Whose Ramblings?

I’ve never really been a fan of “About Me” pages. img_0876

I’d much rather people got to know me through my life’s stories (as recounted in my blogs, print articles, or books) than through some dry listing of credentials.

That said, I realize some folks prefer more context about the authors of the blogs they choose to read.  So here you go:

I’m the “Joanie” of the former “Joanie Tales.” I go by many names: Joan, JoanEsh, Hon, JeanieJoanie, JoaniePal, Twin, Aunt Joan, Aunt Joanie, Mom, Momma, Momma Joan, Parental Unit, MewMaw, Toot (less you think otherwise, that happens to be my maiden name turned inside out, thankyouverymuch!), Cousin, and a few others I won’t mention.

I’m a happily married wife of 37 years, a daughter, an identical twin, a sister to two brothers, a mother (35 years and counting), a grandmother (6 years and counting), a cousin, an aunt, an extended family member, a caregiver, a homemaker, a friend, and a lifelong dog lover and current Momma Joan to three Labrador Retrievers and one silly mutt who thinks he’s a Lab.

These, however, are roles I hold in relation to loved ones. They make up part of who I am, but they do not define all of who I am.

Who I am is what I hope you’ll get to know here in these pages. At the very least, I hope we get to know more of each other.

And perhaps, through this process, I might learn more about myself apart from my roles — something I believe I’ll be discovering for the rest of my life.  That’s something with which you can help if you care to follow along.

Thanks for stopping by.

P.S.  If you want publishing credits and the like, feel free to search me on Google or Amazon. You’ll find enough there to keep you busy.  I’m really not into that kind of thing, but I realize some readers might be, and that’s perfectly fine. Happy Googling!
